The Administration for Children and Families’ Children’s Bureau is offering a cooperative agreement to develop, implement, and evaluate a demonstration program of post-adoption support services for birth parents who voluntarily placed children for private domestic adoption. The work will provide support groups, supportive services, and related resources intended to improve birth parents’ adjustment and well-being, while identifying an effective model that can be replicated nationally. The project emphasizes a rigorous evaluation and is open to eligible organizations that provide technical assistance related to adoption, including faith-based and community organizations; individuals and foreign entities are not eligible. The opportunity provides an estimated $500,000 to $1,000,000 for one award, with applications due electronically by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on July 9, 2026.
Eligible Applicants
Those who provide (directly or by grant to or contract with public or private agencies or organizations, including adoptive family groups and minority groups) for the provision of technical assistance in the planning, improving, developing, and carrying out of programs and activities relating to adoption, and to promote professional leadership training of minorities in the adoption field. Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from the merit review and funding under this funding opportunity. Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible for awards under this funding opportunity.
