Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Health Resources and Services Administration is offering Nursing Workforce Development grants to expand nursing education opportunities for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. The program supports projects that increase enrollment and graduation, strengthen academic, social, and financial supports for students, recruit diverse faculty and preceptors, and build partnerships that advance nursing education. Applications are expected to use a comprehensive systems approach and will be evaluated on need, response, performance management, impact, resources, capabilities, and the amount of support requested, with preference for projects benefiting rural or medically vulnerable populations or addressing public health nursing needs. The program includes about $20 million in total funding, with applications due July 8, 2026, and electronic submissions required by 11:59 p.m. ET on that date.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible organizations include accredited schools of nursing, nursing centers, academic health centers, and domestic public or private non-profit entities entities, such as state and local departments of health, faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations.
