Discovery of in vivo Chemical Probes for the Nervous System (R01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The National Institutes of Health, through the Department of Health and Human Services, is seeking grant applications for Discovery of in vivo Chemical Probes for the Nervous System to support research on novel brain targets. The work centers on discovering and developing small molecules as in vivo chemical probes and validating biological targets that can inform studies of brain disease mechanisms. Applicants are expected to already have validated starting compounds and bioassays for testing new analogs, with the emphasis on chemical probe development rather than drug discovery, and data sharing is required through PubChem and the NIMH Data Archive.
