The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Office of STEM Engagement is seeking proposals for the Minority University Research and Education Project Space Technology Artemis Research initiative. Selected recipients will conduct science, technology, and research and development activities designed to strengthen the role of minority-serving institutions in the future of space exploration. Eligible applicants are limited to two-year or four-year institutions designated by the U.S. Department of Education as Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and Minority Serving Institutions at the time of proposal submission. NASA expects to award approximately 12 cooperative agreements with an individual award ceiling of $1,000,000 out of an estimated $12,000,000 in total program funding. Proposals must be submitted by the closing date of August 11, 2026, and inquiries can be directed to the M-STAR Activity Manager, Dr. Vemitra Alexander, at NASAMSTAR@nasaprs.com.
Eligible Applicants
Two-year or four-year institutions designated and listed by the U.S. Department of Education as Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) at the time of proposal submission (see https://msiexchange.nasa.gov/msilist), including public, state-controlled, and private institutions. Proposals from institutions that are not designated and listed by the U.S. Department of Education as HBCUs, TCUs, or MSIs at the time of the proposal submission will result in NASA returning the application without review. Institutions not meeting these criteria are encouraged to partner with colleges or universities that do satisfy the requirements.
