Coccidioidomycosis Collaborative Research Centers (P01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is soliciting applications for the Coccidioidomycosis Collaborative Research Centers program to advance translational and clinical research supporting development of a Valley fever vaccine. The centers must be highly collaborative, multidisciplinary efforts built around an Administrative Core, a Development and Research Program, and at least two Research Projects, with at least one project involving clinical research using Valley fever patient samples. The work is expected to leverage unique research resources and patient populations from endemic regions, and review will emphasize the scientific merit of the projects as well as investigator qualifications, innovation, approach, environment, and the integration and synergy of the center components. NIH intends to commit $4.8 million in FY 2027 to support 3 to 4 awards, with applications limited to no more than $1.2 million in direct costs per year over a five-year project period.
