Grant Opportunity Analysis

The Administration for Children and Families’ Office on Violence Against Women and Family Violence Prevention Services is seeking cooperative agreement projects to expand services for abused parents and their children under the Specialized Services for Abused Parents and Their Children demonstration program. The work focuses on strengthening family violence, domestic violence, and dating violence service programs and community-based programs by providing direct counseling, developmentally and age-appropriate services, advocacy, and support for non-abusing parents in meeting children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs. Optional activities may include early childhood development and mental health services, technical assistance to community-based organizations, and referrals or additional supports such as childcare, transportation, educational support, respite care, and supervised visitation. Additional Eligibility Information

An entity shall be a local agency, a nonprofit private organization (including faith-based and charitable organizations, community-based organizations, and voluntary organizations), or a tribal organization, with a demonstrated record of serving victims of family violence, domestic violence, or dating violence and their children (42 U.S.C. §10412(b)). Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from the merit review and funding under this funding opportunity. Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible for awards under this funding opportunity.
