Grant Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture is offering a discretionary grant under the Open Data Framework program to build frameworks for neutral, secure data repositories and cooperatives that let producers, universities, and nonprofit entities store and share data in support of agricultural innovation. The work is aimed at improving technological progress, profitability, and production efficiency, with priority for frameworks addressing farm and ranch profitability, new markets and uses for agricultural products, invasive species, soil health, or human health through precision nutrient and food quality. Applications are limited to organizations rather than individuals, no cost sharing is required, and the opportunity is for one award with a fixed amount of $923,325. Eligible Applicants
Eligibility Requirements Applicants for the ODF must meet all the requirements discussed in this NOFO. Failure to meet the eligibility criteria by the application deadline may result in exclusion from consideration or preclude NIFA from making an award. Organizations may include state agricultural experiment stations, colleges and universities, research institutions and organizations, private organizations, foundations or corporations, federal agencies, National laboratories.
