Cooperative Agreement for Affiliated Partner with the Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU)

The U.S. Geological Survey is offering a cooperative agreement opportunity to support research in determining how variations of spatial geotechnical sediment properties affect geomorphic responses during storm impacts. The selected recipient will work to advance a coupled ocean-wave-sediment modeling system for predictions of geomorphic change, with the goal of improving coastal science that supports storm and emergency preparedness. This research is funded through the Congressional Authority Disaster Supplemental from Hurricane Ian to help stakeholders better prepare for severe events and to protect critical coastal energy infrastructure. To be eligible, applicants must be participating partners of the Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit Program. Total funding for this single-award opportunity is estimated at $350,000, and electronic applications must be submitted by September 11, 2026.
