Centers of Excellence in Healthcare Quality and Safety

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s NCEZID is seeking cooperative agreement applicants for the Centers of Excellence in Healthcare Quality and Safety, a program designed to build a collaborative network that can detect, respond to, and prevent threats to patient and healthcare worker safety. The work centers on healthcare systems and facilities working with public health partners and other entities with relevant expertise to improve the safety, quality, and resilience of U.S. healthcare delivery across settings such as hospitals, long-term care, dialysis, emergency, outpatient, and home health services. The opportunity emphasizes a multi-facility, multi-partner structure rather than requiring each applicant to bring every capability on its own, and applicants that request more than the stated ceiling will be considered non-responsive. It offers awards from $3.5 million to $22 million, with an estimated 10 awards and no cost-sharing requirement, and electronic applications are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on January 4, 2027.
