Grant Opportunity Analysis

The National Institute of Food and Agriculture is offering the Methyl Bromide Transition Program to support the discovery and implementation of practical pest management alternatives to methyl bromide. The program supports Integrated Projects that combine research and extension as well as Extension-Only Projects, and proposals must include an economic analysis showing the alternatives are cost-effective and scalable to commercial conditions. Eligibility is limited to colleges and universities, including Hispanic-serving agricultural colleges and universities and 1994 Institutions, with a dollar-for-dollar match requirement that may be waived under specific conditions; applications are evaluated on technical merit, personnel qualifications, relevance to program goals, and Centers of Excellence are prioritized. Applications are due June 29, 2026, and the program lists approximately $1,000,000 in total funding with an award ceiling and floor of $500,000 and an expected two awards.
