OJP FY 2026 Special Attorneys Program

The Bureau of Justice Assistance is seeking applications for the OJP FY 2026 Special Attorneys Program, a discretionary cooperative agreement that supports cross-designated prosecutors to strengthen fraud, trafficking, and related criminal enforcement. The program funds state, local, Tribal, and territorial prosecuting agencies to assign or hire qualified prosecutors to serve full time as Special Attorneys in the National Fraud Enforcement Division or the Criminal Division, or as Special Assistant United States Attorneys in a U.S. Attorney’s Office. It is intended to expand investigative and prosecutorial capacity and intergovernmental coordination, with federally recognized Native American Tribal Governments listed as eligible applicants and cost sharing required. Applications are due May 15, 2026, the award ceiling is $1,000,000, and questions may be directed to OJP.ResponseCenter@usdoj.gov.
