FY27 Brownfields Job Training (JT) Grants
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Environmental Protection Agency is soliciting applications for the FY27 Brownfields Job Training Grants to deliver programs that recruit, train, and place unemployed and underemployed residents in solid and hazardous waste-impacted communities. Funded training programs must prepare graduates for full-time environmental jobs, with eligible activities spanning brownfield assessment, remediation, community involvement, and site preparation. To meet technical requirements, curricula must be tailored to local employer needs, incorporate the mandatory 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, and limit administrative costs to five percent. The agency expects to award approximately 20 cooperative agreements for projects lasting up to three years, with individual awards capped at $300,000 from an estimated total pool of up to $6 million. Applications must be submitted through Grants.gov by the deadline of September 23, 2026, and inquiries can be directed to technical contact Emily Eisenhauer at Eisenhauer.Emily@epa.gov.
