Technical Assistance and Training for Rural, Small and Tribal Municipalities and Wastewater Treatment Systems
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Environmental Protection Agency Office of Water is soliciting applications to provide technical assistance and training for rural, small, and Tribal municipalities and wastewater treatment systems. Selected recipients will help these communities identify water challenges, build technical, financial, and managerial capacity, comply with Clean Water Act requirements, and secure infrastructure funding. The program emphasizes technical assistance over training across four key priority areas, including specific assistance for Tribes and decentralized wastewater systems, though physical infrastructure construction projects are strictly ineligible. EPA expects to award approximately $25.5 million across 6 to 12 cooperative agreements with an award ceiling of $3,000,000 per award. Applications must be submitted by August 14, 2026, and inquiries can be directed to Grace Persico at RuralSmallTribalNOFO@epa.gov.
