Child Abuse Prevention in Migrant and Tribal Communities

The Administration for Children and Families, ACYF/CB is offering a discretionary federal grant to support child abuse prevention in migrant and tribal communities. The program funds community-based efforts to develop, operate, expand, enhance, and coordinate initiatives that strengthen families and protect children by preventing child abuse and neglect before it occurs. Projects are expected to build protective factors, improve access to family support and prevention services tailored to tribal and migrant families, and increase the use of evidence-informed practices to reduce risk and improve child safety and well-being. Eligibility is limited to federally recognized Indian tribes, tribal organizations, and migrant programs, and nonprofit organizations may apply if they operate or plan to operate migrant or tribal programs; electronically submitted applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on July 6, 2026, with awards estimated for September 29, 2026 and project start on September 30, 2026.
Eligible Applicants
Eligibility is limited to federally recognized Indian tribes, tribal organizations, and migrant programs. Non-profit organizations (with and without 501(c)(3) status) can apply if they operate or plan to operate migrant or tribal programs. Collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts are acceptable, but applications must identify a primary applicant responsible for administering the grant. Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from the merit review and funding under this funding opportunity.
