Grant Opportunity Analysis

The National Institutes of Health, through NICHD, is seeking exploratory grant applications for NExT AI Hubs to study how AI technologies affect developmental outcomes in children with or at risk for specific learning disabilities in reading, writing, and mathematics. The hubs must include a single Research Project and a Leadership Core and are intended to advance high-impact, high-risk research, build evidence for the SLD community, and support early-career transdisciplinary scientists. Applications must focus on children with SLDs, use community-engaged research, and address innovative topics; foreign organizations and foreign components are not eligible. NIH expects up to three awards with support of up to $390,000 in direct costs per year for up to four years, and applications are due October 2, 2026, with questions directed to nichdgrantsmanagement@mail.nih.gov.
