The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is initiating a cooperative agreement titled "PC-25-02, Probability Analysis of Derelict Fishing Gear Interactions with Floating Offshore Wind Mooring Systems Offshore California." This project aims to assess the likelihood of interactions between derelict fishing gear and offshore energy infrastructure, particularly floating wind structures, to identify high-risk areas, inform mitigative strategies, and support future research efforts. The findings will contribute to BOEM's environmental assessments and decision-making processes, leveraging the expertise of the University of California, Santa Cruz, and NOAA Fisheries. The total funding for this project is estimated at $410,168, with applications due by 11:59 PM ET on August 22, 2025.
