BJA FY25 Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners – Formula Grants Program

The Bureau of Justice Assistance, within the U.S. Department of Justice, is offering a formula grant to support residential substance use disorder treatment for state prisoners and related reentry services. The program funds work to expand or maintain drug-free prisons and jails, deliver specialized residential treatment for adults and juveniles during detention or incarceration, and provide community-based treatment and recovery aftercare after release. It is open only to state governments and includes support for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, with cost sharing or matching required.
