The National Institute of Food and Agriculture, an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is seeking applications for the Fiscal Year 2026 Secondary Education, Two-Year Postsecondary Education, and Agriculture in the K-12 Classroom Challenge Grants Program. Funded projects must promote and strengthen food and agricultural science education for K-14 grade levels through activities such as curriculum development, expanded student career opportunities, and student leadership skills development. Eligible applicants include public secondary schools, junior and community colleges, higher education institutions, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations proposing projects with durations of 24 to 36 months. Applications must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov by July 27, 2026, for awards ranging from $10,000 to $150,000 out of an estimated $750,000 in total available funding.
Eligible Applicants
Applications may only be submitted by: (1) public secondary schools 20 U.S.C. 7801(45), (2) public or private nonprofit junior and community colleges, (3) institutions of higher education (20 U.S.C. 1001), or (4) nonprofit organizations (Attach IRS 501(c)(3) status under R&R 'Other Project Information' Field 12 Other Attachments).
