Grant Opportunity Analysis

The Bureau of Indian Affairs’ Division of Energy and Mineral Development is offering Energy and Mineral Development Program grants to Federally recognized Tribal entities to support work that identifies, evaluates, and assesses energy or mineral resources on Indian land. The program funds activities such as resource inventories, feasibility studies, and pre-development studies for a range of energy and mineral resources. Eligibility is limited to Indian Tribes and Tribal Energy Development Organizations, and projects must occur on Indian land; applicants also need an active UEI and ASAP enrollment, and proposals are evaluated on project status, economic viability, scope of work, and budget. Awards range from $10,000 to $2,500,000, about 10 to 30 awards are anticipated, and electronic applications are due in Grants.gov by 11:59 p.m. on June 18, 2026.
