Grant Opportunity Analysis

The Bureau of Justice Assistance is offering a discretionary federal grant to support conviction integrity units and wrongful conviction review entities that strengthen criminal justice system integrity and address post-conviction claims of innocence. The program funds work to build the capacity of CIUs, WCR entities, and their criminal justice and victims’ services partners to identify, assess, and manage innocence claims, prevent future errors, identify actual perpetrators, and support victims. Eligible applicants are other units of local government, there is no cost-sharing requirement, and the award ceiling is $600,000.
