The Department of Homeland Security, through FEMA, is offering the Fiscal Year 2025 Presidential Residence Protection Assistance Grant Program to reimburse state and local law enforcement agencies for extraordinary personnel costs tied to protecting non-governmental presidential residences designated for Secret Service security. The program covers protection-related overtime and backfill overtime that are directly attributable to Secret Service protection requests and excludes routine law enforcement, equipment, and personnel hiring costs. Eligible applicants are state and local law enforcement agencies, either directly or through the State Administrative Agency, that conducted the relevant protection activities, and applications require detailed financial documentation, an investment narrative, and certifications of Secret Service-requested activities. Applications must be submitted through FEMA GO by May 29, 2026, and the program lists up to $90,000,000 in total expected funding with approximately 11 awards.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants are limited to state and local law enforcement agencies, either directly or through the State Administrative Agency (SAA), that conducted protection activities associated with any non-governmental residence of the President of the United States designated to be secured by the U.S. Secret Service.
