BJA FY25 John R. Justice (JRJ) Formula Grant Program

The Bureau of Justice Assistance is offering the BJA FY25 John R. Justice Formula Grant Program, a mandatory federal grant for state governments to fund loan repayment assistance for local, state, and federal prosecutors and public defenders who agree to continued qualifying service. States will administer statewide programs through governor-designated state agencies that solicit and select eligible beneficiaries. Selected beneficiaries must commit to an additional three years of qualifying service, and loan repayment is made directly to the beneficiary’s loan service provider; no matching requirement is listed.
