Expanding global health security though local partnerships in Tanzania

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Global Health Center is seeking applications to expand global health security in Tanzania through local partnerships under the Global Health Security Agenda. Funded recipients will support the Tanzanian government in strengthening biosurveillance networks, expanding national and subnational emergency operations center capacity, and enhancing national laboratory capabilities for detecting outbreaks, antimicrobial resistance, and zoonotic diseases. Additionally, the work requires increasing timely disease reporting to relevant authorities and developing a functional biosurveillance workforce of trained disease detectives and laboratory scientists. The cooperative agreement is estimated to have a total program funding of $5,000,000 to support approximately three awards.
