DoW Peer Reviewed Medical, Research Advancement Award

The Defense Health Agency’s FY26 Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program, administered through USAMRAA, is offering a Research Advancement Award grant to support fundamental medical research with preliminary data in congressionally directed topic areas and strategic goals. The work is intended to advance patient care and quality of life through use-inspired basic research, including hypothesis testing or expansion of mature data, and clinical trials are not permitted although non-interventional clinical research is allowed. Eligible applicants include extramural and intramural U.S. Department of War organizations, with independent investigators serving as principal investigators, and awards have a maximum period of performance of four years and a total cost cap of $1.4 million each.
