GREGoRi Data Coordination and Outreach Center (U01, Clinical Trials Not Allowed)

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) have issued a Funding Opportunity Announcement (RFA-HG-27-011) to establish the GREGoRi Data Coordination and Outreach Center (DCC). This center will serve as the central hub for the GREGoRi:innovation initiative, which aims to revolutionize rare disease diagnosis by developing advanced molecular technologies and analytical approaches. The DCC will coordinate data submission and release, support the development of computational tools for rare disease diagnosis, and facilitate consortium activities and collaboration. The initiative seeks to close the diagnostic gap for rare diseases by accelerating the use of new molecular approaches and addressing computational challenges. NHGRI plans to commit $2 million in FY 2027 to fund one award, with a maximum budget of $1.25 million in direct costs per project year over five years. Eligible applicants include various organizations, but foreign entities are excluded. Applications must adhere to strict guidelines for submission, human subjects protection, and data sharing, including compliance with NIH's Genomic Data Sharing Policy.
