ROSES25: F.5 Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology
Grant Opportunity Analysis
NASA Headquarters is seeking grant proposals through ROSES25 F.5, Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology, to support graduate student research in Earth and space science and technology. The program element is part of NASA’s broader ROSES 2025 solicitation and funds research and technology work under CFDA 43.001. Proposers must be affiliated with an institution in NSPIRES, and NASA generally funds U.S. institutions, with special rules for some non-U.S. organizations; the typical award period is three years, though some programs may differ. No notices of intent or Step-1 proposals are requested or accepted, proposals are due July 14, 2026, and optional pre-proposal webinar and office hours are scheduled for late May and June.
Eligible Applicants
Proposers must be affiliated with an institution at nspires.nasaprs.com/ and, in general, NASA provides funding only to U.S. institutions. Organizations outside the U.S. that propose on the basis of a policy of no-exchange-of-funds; consult the NASA Grant and Cooperative Agreement Manual (GCAM) (https://www.nasa.gov/grants-policy-and-compliance-team/#Regulations) for specific details. Some NRAs may be issued jointly with a non-U.S. organization, e.g., those concerning guest observing programs for jointly sponsored space science programs, that will contain additional special guidelines for non-U.S. participants. Also reference the GCAM for special instructions for proposals from non-U.S. organizations that involve U.S. personnel for whom NASA support is requested.
