The Defense Health Agency, through the Department of the Army USAMRAA, is seeking applications for the FY26 Melanoma Research Program Melanoma Academy Scholar Award to support independent early-career investigators in melanoma research and career development. The award is designed to bring Scholars into the virtual Melanoma Academy, with emphasis on building research capability and professional networks in a collaborative environment. Applicants must be independent investigators within seven years of their first faculty appointment, have a Career Guide with strong melanoma mentorship and publication credentials, and address at least one FY26 MRP focus area with relevance to military health; preliminary data are not required. The program anticipates about two awards totaling up to $1.54 million, with up to $770,000 per award over three years, and uses a two-step process with a pre-application due September 22, 2026 and a full application due October 14, 2026.
