Grant Opportunity Analysis

The U.S. Department of State Embassy Cairo Public Diplomacy Section is seeking proposals to implement a comprehensive mentor program for Egyptian English language instructors to strengthen national English education capacity and foster U.S.-Egypt educational partnerships. The selected recipient will train 150 Egyptian English instructors across all governorates through an intensive 56-hour course and facilitate a subsequent mentorship component requiring each participant to complete 100 hours of documented volunteer peer support. The Regional English Language Office Cairo will maintain substantial involvement in this six-to-eight-month cooperative agreement, approving curricula, key personnel, and monitoring and evaluation plans. Eligible non-profit and civil society organizations must submit their applications by August 9, 2026, for awards ranging from $100,000 to $150,000, with inquiries directed to English Language Specialist Hanaa Soudan at SoudahHE@state.gov.
