Grant Opportunity Analysis
The National Institutes of Health is reissuing the SBIR/STTR Commercialization Readiness Pilot (CRP) Program to help United States small business concerns move NIH-funded SBIR or STTR projects from late-stage development toward commercialization. The program supports later-stage research and development and technical assistance that can include independent replication or confirmation of key studies, IND- or IDE-enabling work, clinical studies, manufacturing scale-up and quality activities, and regulatory or other specialized support. Eligible applicants are U.S. small business concerns that have received an NIH SBIR or STTR Phase II or IIB award within the last 36 months, and the project may rely on substantial subcontracting as long as the small business maintains oversight; the maximum project period is three years and clinical trials are optional, though some NIH components do not accept them. Applications are due April 5, 2027, and questions may be directed to NIH SEED at SEEDinfo@nih.gov.
