Cooperative Program for Modeling Clinical Transplantation
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health, is seeking cooperative agreement applications for the Cooperative Program for Modeling Clinical Transplantation to advance clinically translatable models that support the development of new therapies in human solid organ transplantation. The program focuses on in-vitro and in-vivo systems that model local and systemic immune responses, including new approach methods and refined mouse models that can improve translation from preclinical research to clinical practice. Proposed work should address known limitations in existing models, reduce reliance on nonhuman primates, demonstrate relevance to clinical outcomes, and support data sharing to improve reproducibility and establish standards and best practices. The opportunity is expected to have about $1.28 million in total program funding for three awards, with an estimated synopsis posting date of July 10, 2026, a close date of October 9, 2026, and an estimated award and project start date of July 1, 2027; inquiries are directed to CPMCT_U01@mail.nih.gov.
