Grant Opportunity Analysis

NASA Headquarters is offering the ROSES25 A.11 Early Career Investigator Program in Earth Science as a discretionary federal grant to support Earth science research. The program seeks proposals from early career investigators for research and related work under NASA’s Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences 2025 solicitation. Awards are generally made as grants, typically with a three-year period of performance, and proposals must come through an affiliated institution in NSPIRES, with NASA generally funding U.S. institutions and limited exceptions for some non-U.S. organizations. A mandatory notice of intent is due May 18, 2026, and proposals are due June 17, 2026; no cost share or matching is required.

Additional Eligibility Information

Proposers must be affiliated with an institution at nspires.nasaprs.com/ and, in general, NASA provides funding only to U.S. institutions. Organizations outside the U.S. that propose on the basis of a policy of no-exchange-of-funds; consult the NASA Grant and Cooperative Agreement Manual (GCAM) (https://www.nasa.gov/grants-policy-and-compliance-team/#Regulations) for specific details. Some NRAs may be issued jointly with a non-U.S. organization, e.g., those concerning guest observing programs for jointly sponsored space science programs, that will contain additional special guidelines for non-U.S. participants. Also reference the GCAM for special instructions for proposals from non-U.S. organizations that involve U.S. personnel for whom NASA support is requested.
