DoW Hearing Restoration Focused Research Award
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Army’s USAMRAA is offering the FY26 Hearing Restoration Research Program Focused Research Award to support research that advances drug discovery and therapeutic development for hearing restoration after military-relevant auditory system injury. The award supports basic through translational work, including preclinical studies and clinical research, but it cannot be used for clinical trials, tinnitus research, or vestibular research. Two funding levels are available: Level 1 supports exploratory, high-risk projects, while Level 2 is for work moving toward clinical translation and includes a Partnering Principal Investigator option for collaborative projects; preliminary data is optional for Level 1 and required for Level 2. A letter of intent is due August 25, 2026, and the full application is due September 10, 2026, with no cost sharing required and an anticipated three awards from $2.8 million in total program funding.
