The U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur Public Diplomacy Section is seeking grant proposals for “Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary in Sabah” to mark Freedom250 in Sabah, Malaysia and strengthen U.S.-Malaysia ties. Funded projects should deliver innovative programs that highlight U.S. excellence through educational, cultural, innovation, entrepreneurship, arts, sports diplomacy, STEM, English language, and commemorative activities. The program is aimed at Malaysian audiences in Sabah, especially youth, educators, entrepreneurs, and civil society leaders, with emphasis on lasting impact, dialogue, and review factors including program quality, organizational capacity, budget, and sustainability; applicants must have a UEI and SAM.gov registration. The grant range is $50,000 to $150,000, with $150,000 total available and up to four awards, and proposals are due May 30, 2026 at 5:00 PM Malaysia Time with the required forms, detailed proposal, budget, and attachments.
