Grant Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Mission to Benin, through U.S. Embassy Cotonou, is offering the AEIF FY2026 grant program to support alumni-led projects that advance youth empowerment and U.S. foreign policy objectives in Benin. The initiative seeks proposals that mobilize U.S. exchange alumni to train and mentor Beninese youth ages 18–35 in technology and entrepreneurship, as well as civic engagement and leadership. Applicants are expected to submit a project proposal and budget package and to provide detailed organizational and financial information, including compliance and accounting disclosures such as SAM registration, UEI, internal controls, and prior audit history; eligible applicants are registered not-for-profit alumni organizations or alumni applying individually, and cost sharing is required. Applications are due April 22, 2026, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $35,000 and an expected 50 awards, and questions may be directed to cotonoupasgrants@state.gov.
