Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund 2026
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Mission to Croatia, through the U.S. Embassy Zagreb Public Diplomacy Section, is offering the 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund as a grant program for U.S. government exchange alumni to develop projects that advance U.S. policy objectives and shared interests. The program supports projects that celebrate and promote Freedom 250 and that honor U.S. values, strengthen public understanding of American founding principles, and highlight innovation and leadership for the next 250 years. Proposals must involve at least two eligible exchange-program alumni, with a designated team lead, and organizations need a UEI and active SAM.gov registration; cost sharing is not required. Selected projects will be nominated as Croatia’s candidates for final AEIF consideration, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $35,000 and a submission deadline of May 11, 2026, and questions can be sent to zagrebalumnigrants@state.gov.
Eligible Applicants
• Alumni who participated in a U.S. government-sponsored exchange program where the proposed project involves at least two U.S. government-sponsored exchange program alumni, and one is a specified team lead.• Alumni associations from countries with current U.S. representation, but such applications must specify an alumni team lead.• If three or more alumni are applying together, U.S. citizen alumni may be included on alumni teams, but the team must have at least two non-U.S. citizen exchange program alumni. U.S. citizen alumni cannot be team leads on project proposals.
