EDU Core Research

The U.S. National Science Foundation is funding the EDU Core Research program to support fundamental research in STEM education. The solicitation invites curiosity-driven and use-inspired basic research that advances general knowledge in STEM learning and learning environments, broadening participation in STEM, and STEM workforce development. Projects may span formal and informal settings for learners of all ages, with proposed funding level and duration expected to align with the maturity and scope of the research; proposals may request 3 to 5 years of support and must justify the requested level. The competition offers three budget tiers up to $500,000, $1.5 million, or $2.5 million, with no matching requirement, and proposals are due October 1, 2026.
