BJS FY25 National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Estimation Project Supplement – Invited to Apply

The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) is inviting applications for the FY25 National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) Estimation Project Supplement, which will be funded through a cooperative agreement. The primary objective of this project is to develop and refine statistical procedures for assessing the quality of NIBRS data and to create reliable national crime estimates based on this data, which is crucial for understanding crime trends across the nation. This funding opportunity, with a total award amount of $1.5 million, is specifically aimed at conducting annual evaluations and updates of estimation methods to adapt to changes in data quality and coverage as more law enforcement agencies transition to NIBRS reporting.
