Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative - Research Grants

The USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture is offering the Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative Research Grants to support research that advances agricultural genomics and phenomics. The program funds work to improve understanding of genes, germplasm, and genetic resources in crops and livestock, while developing models, management tools, and data-acquisition approaches that can improve prediction and selection of superior genetic populations. Priority elements include collaboration across disciplines, use of FAIR data principles, and dissemination of findings, and applicants must submit a Data Management Plan and a Mentoring Plan if student training is involved. Eligible Applicants
In accordance with 7 USC 3157(b)(7), the Secretary may make grants under this subsection to: 1. State agricultural experiment stations; 2. Colleges and universities; 3. University research foundations; 4. Other research institutions and organizations; 5. Federal agencies; 6. National laboratories; 7. Private organizations, foundations, or corporations; 8. Individuals; or 9. Any group consisting of two or more of the entities described in (1) through (8). A consortium of eligible entities is encouraged to apply under this NOFO.
