FY25 Center of Excellence-University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Supplemental)

The Federal Railroad Administration is providing supplemental funding through a cooperative agreement for the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Center of Excellence to advance rail transportation research, education, workforce development, training, and technology transfer. The work supports basic and applied research and related activities aimed at improving the safety, efficiency, reliability, resiliency, and sustainability of urban commuter, intercity high-speed, and freight rail systems. The award supplements existing grant agreement 69A36524520020RRDIL and requires cost sharing or matching, with the opportunity limited to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
