Grant Opportunity Analysis

The U.S. Department of Education is offering a discretionary grant competition under ALN 84.325K to prepare and increase the number of personnel qualified to serve children with disabilities in special education, early intervention, and related services. The program funds projects that use evidence-based strategies to prepare scholars at the bachelor’s, certification, master’s, educational specialist, or clinical doctoral level for roles serving infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children in settings such as homes, communities, child care, classrooms, and schools. Applicants must address state or tribal personnel shortages and needs, and proposals are evaluated on significance, project design, management, resources, and evaluation, with at least 70% of the award directed to scholar support. The competition provides an estimated $8.75 million for about 35 awards, with a maximum of $1.25 million per project over 60 months and an annual limit of $350,000, and applications are due July 2, 2026.
