Work Opportunity Tax Credit Initial Funding Allotments for Fiscal Year 2026

The Employment and Training Administration is providing Fiscal Year 2026 Work Opportunity Tax Credit state allotments to State Workforce Agencies to support WOTC program administration and grant application requirements. The funding is intended to help agencies process certification requests, designate a State Coordinator, determine eligibility, issue determinations, establish operating procedures, develop backlog reduction plans, and maintain quality review processes. Awards are formula-based and tied to state shares of certifications, denials, and civilian labor force averages, with WOTC administration focused on hires on or before December 31, 2025. Applications must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov using SF-424, with a deadline of May 28, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, and questions may be emailed to Charlene Wright at Wright.Charlene@dol.gov.
