Advanced Development of Informatics Technologies for Cancer Research and Management (U24 Clinical Trial Optional)

The National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement to advance and enhance emerging informatics technologies for cancer research and management under the ITCR program. The work focuses on improving data acquisition, analysis, visualization, and interpretation across the cancer research continuum, including cancer biology, treatment and diagnosis, early detection, risk assessment and prevention, and cancer control and epidemiology. Proposals should address technologies that have moved beyond initial prototyping, show clear value to the field, include plans for engaging end users and the broader user community, and present a realistic development timeline with milestones; the opportunity is labeled U24 clinical trial optional and anticipates substantial NIH programmatic involvement. The application due date is October 19, 2026, and NCI expects to commit $2.6 million in FY 2027 for an estimated three awards, with budgets limited to $600,000 in direct costs per year for up to five years.
