Fingerprinting Infrastructure Modernization for Child Welfare

The Administration for Children and Families, within the Administration on Children, Youth and Families Children's Bureau, is offering the Fingerprinting Infrastructure Modernization for Child Welfare grant to support state and tribal child welfare agencies. Recipients will use the funding to modernize fingerprinting and background check infrastructure by investing in mobile fingerprinting, office-based Live Scan stations, and system modernization efforts that streamline child welfare workflows. These investments are designed to reduce background check processing delays, enhance compliance with federal requirements, and accelerate the safe placement of children into stable family homes. Eligible applicants include State IV-E agencies and Tribal IV-B/IV-E agencies, who may apply for awards ranging between $50,000 and $200,000. Applications must be submitted electronically to cb@grantreview.org by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on August 31, 2026, under an overall program funding pool of $4,000,000.
Eligible Applicants
State IV-E agencies and Tribal IV-B/IV-E agencies. Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from the merit review and funding under this funding opportunity. Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible for awards under this funding opportunity.
