​Sickle Cell Disease Regional Care Excellence (SoRCE) Program

The Sickle Cell Disease Regional Care Excellence (SoRCE) Program, opportunity number HRSA-26-052, is a federal funding opportunity aiming to improve the health of individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) by expanding access to and quality of care, and tracking quality-of-life indicators. The program will fund seven Regional Coordinating Hubs (RCHs) with up to $950,000 each annually, which will establish networks of at least three Clinical-Community Spokes (CCSs) in their assigned regions. Eligible applicants include Federally-qualified health centers, nonprofit hospitals or clinics, and university health centers with at least five years of experience in SCD and a collaborative agreement with an SCD community-based organization. Applications are due by July 8, 2026. The program emphasizes continuous quality improvement, engagement of individuals with SCD and their families, and collaboration with a national coordinating center. Optional supplemental funding of up to $250,000 is available for emerging issues in SCD care. Awards are cooperative agreements for five budget periods, from September 30, 2026, to June 30, 2031, contingent on funding.
