Description

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has posted a grant opportunity titled "Preservation and Reinvestment Initiative for Community Enhancement (PRICE) Competition". This grant aims to preserve long-term housing affordability for residents of manufactured housing or manufactured housing communities (MHCs), to redevelop MHCs, and to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income (LMI) residents. The grant funding of $225 million will be awarded through a competitive process, with a minimum grant request of $5 million for most applicants. The grant supports various activities such as infrastructure development, environmental improvements, repair or replacement of existing manufactured housing units, planning activities, resident and community services, resilience activities, and assistance for manufactured housing renters or homesite renters with land and site acquisition. The grant also includes a pilot program with $25 million reserved for the redevelopment of MHCs as affordable replacement housing or for relocation assistance, buy-outs, or down payment assistance for residents. The application deadline is June 5, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM Eastern time. For more information and to apply, visit the HUD website at https://hud.gov/program_offices/comm_planning/price.
