Grant Opportunity Analysis

The National Institutes of Health, through NCCIH, plans a cooperative agreement funding opportunity for pragmatic and implementation trials conducted in health care settings. It will support large-scale studies that test intervention effectiveness in routine clinical care and evaluate strategies for delivering interventions within health systems. The work is expected to embed interventions in routine care, use a milestone-driven design with planning and full-trial phases, and favor projects that improve real-world relevance across multiple care settings and health system types. NIH indicates that applications are not being solicited yet, with the synopsis estimated for November 24, 2026, a closing date of February 23, 2027, and estimated award and project start dates of December 1, 2027; questions may be directed by email to the NCCIH Division of Extramural Research Program Officer at NCCIHDERFunding@nih.gov.
