Grant Opportunity Analysis
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), through its Office of Science, has announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Building EPSCoR-State/DOE-National Laboratory Partnerships program. This initiative aims to foster fundamental, early-stage energy research collaborations between academic institutions in eligible EPSCoR jurisdictions and DOE National Laboratories, with a strong emphasis on involving undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows, particularly encouraging participation from early-career faculty. The total funding available for this program is $35 million, with approximately 30-35 awards expected, each ranging from $600,000 to $1 million over a four-year period. Interested applicants must submit a pre-application by March 18, 2026, and full applications by May 21, 2026, while adhering to specific eligibility criteria and program requirements, including a letter of commitment from a National Laboratory partner. For further inquiries, applicants can contact John Vetrano, Ph.D., at EPSCoR.NOFO@science.doe.gov.
