BJS FY25 National Prison Rape Statistics Program (NPRSP) Assessment

The Bureau of Justice Statistics is seeking a cooperative agreement to assess its National Prison Rape Statistics Program and improve how it collects and uses prison rape data under the Prison Rape Elimination Act framework. The work includes reviewing the current BJS program, consulting with stakeholders, and developing recommendations to increase the utility of future collections while reducing burden on data providers. The assessment is intended to inform possible methodological changes to sampling, data collection methods, and dissemination efforts. The opportunity is funded at up to $500,000 for one award, closes on May 4, 2026, and questions may be directed to AskBJS@usdoj.gov.
