The National Institutes of Health is offering the Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Transition Award (Parent F99/K00) to support promising graduate students as they complete their doctoral degrees and transition into mentored postdoctoral career development. Funded recipients must commit full-time to a strong research training plan designed to develop independent researchers in biomedical fields. The award provides up to five years of support split across two phases, consisting of one to two years for the F99 predoctoral phase and up to three years for the K00 postdoctoral phase. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled in a research doctoral program at the dissertation stage, and proposals must not include independent clinical trials.
