OJP FY 2026 Special Attorneys Program Round 3
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Bureau of Justice Assistance is funding the OJP FY 2026 Special Attorneys Program Round 3 to support state, local, Tribal, and territorial prosecuting agencies through a cooperative agreement. The program funds agencies to assign or hire qualified prosecutors to serve as Special Attorneys or Special Assistant United States Attorneys while remaining employed by their home offices. The cross-designated prosecutors will investigate and prosecute fraud and other crimes committed by aliens within the United States, and may also handle drug or human trafficking cases, in coordination with federal partners on a case-by-case basis. The opportunity does not require cost sharing, is open to eligible local government units and other listed applicants, and closes on June 17, 2026; questions may be directed to OJP.ResponseCenter@usdoj.gov.
Eligible Applicants
For the purposes of this NOFO, other units of local government include towns, boroughs, parishes, villages, or other general purpose political subdivisions of a state.
